FAQ

Do you offer beers to-go?

We offer a variety of Canned Beers, Bottled Beers, Crowler Cans, and Growler fills to-go. However, not all beers on draft are available to-go, and everything is available while supplies last, at our discretion.

can i bring a non-emancipation growler to be filled?

As long as the growler is clean and has a working cap, we will fill it. If it’s not clean, we cannot fill it. Give it a sniff. If you smell nothing, you’re good to go!

My Growler smells, what do i do?

Fill the growler halfway with some warm water & dish soap, cover the hole with your hand, and shake. Let sit a few minutes, and shake again. Depending on level of soiling, you may need to soak & shake more. Then RINSE THOROUGHLY! Soap residue kills carbonation and head, so make sure to rinse completely. Then prop the growler upside down, leaning into a corner on your counter, so it can drain and receive air flow to dry.

What is a crowler?

A Crowler is a 32oz can. Similar to a growler, it’s made to be taken home and drank relatively quickly. The benefits over a glass growler are that you can take these camping, boating, hiking, and generally anywhere where glass isn’t allowed. Also, they extend the shelf life of beer over a traditional growler.

What is a Growler/Half growler?

A growler is a 64oz glass bottle, made for taking draft beer home and drinking within 48 hours. A half growler is just half the size of a growler - a 32oz glass bottle.

Can I bring wine to the taproom?

No outside alcohol is allowed in the taproom for any reason. If you want to, take it up with the State of Illinois.

Do you serve food?

We are now the home of Pop-Up Pizza Co., a food trailer that specializes in handmade pizzas! See what they’re all about on their social media or www.popuppizzaco.com. We also have a variety of local cheeses, meat sticks, Hot Pretzels, and snack mix for sale. We have the occasional guest food truck. We simply ask that you dispose of any waste properly.

Can i bring my children?

Absolutely! We are very child friendly. We have board games, non-alcoholic house-made sodas, and make sure the taproom always has an atmosphere that any parent would feel comfortable having their children in. However, all people under the age of 18 must be accompanied with an adult at all times. As a reminder, our Brewery is on a working farm, so please keep your children within eyeshot at all times.

Can i bring My dog?

We’re always dog friendly, but your pup must be leased at all times, and please be aware of their behavior around other dogs and humans before bringing them out.

Do you have any domestic beers?

Yes. All of our beer is made domestically, right here in rural Fairbury. But, you won’t find any Macro Beers here. All of our beverages are made in-house, with the exception of hard ciders sourced from 2 Fools Cidery in Naperville and the occasional guest tap of beer or mead from a local craft brewery. However, we attempt to keep to always keep at least one beer on tap that will satisfy domestic-drinkers.

Do you offer any gluten free beers?

No. We feel that it is extremely difficult to create a gluten-free beer that is up to our standards of taste, especially without special equipment. However, we always have at least one guest hard cider and/or mead for sale, all of which are gluten-free. We occasionally have our house-made Hard Seltzer Cocktails on tap as well. Our house-made sodas, while non-alcoholic, are also gluten free. To see our current lineup of beverages see our tap list, which can be viewed here.

Do you have an outdoor area?

Yes! We have a patio/beer garden with tons of capacity, as well as the “Lean-To”, which is an indoor/outdoor hybrid area with garage doors and heat that can allow us to have fresh air and comfortable temps all year! We also now have the TapShack, an outdoor walk-up service bar with a few of our best sellers on tap, so you don’t have to walk all the way inside on a nice day to grab a beer. (Open certain days only)

Can I schedule a private event?

Yes! We only allow Entire Barn Rentals for private events (which includes the Main Taproom & Lean-To) during non-open hours. The Lean-To can be rented out for private events any day of the week. For events inquiries, email events@emancipation.beer or fill out our events inquiry form that can be found under our Private Events Tab.

can i reserve a table?
